Historic Naldham House on the Brisbane River was the headquarters of the Australian Steamship Navigation Company and since 1888 has had a few reincarnations, this latest for our clients Dap & Co.

Naldham House Euro Brasserie is a four level venue including basement bar, outdoor terrace, brasserie, supper club and fine dining Cantonese restaurant The Fifty Six. Sonda worked with the client to take conceptual documents through documentation and completion, integrating services, developing lighting concepts and sourcing furniture, finishes and art to complete the picture.

Sonda’s work included designing the ground floor bar where details were taken from the original carved stair balustrades and reworked as brass trims for arched display niches. Bespoke glass pendants handmade in New York reference the nautical past of the building .
