Popolo Italian restaurant has been an icon of Brisbane’s Southbank precinct for over a decade. The project brief included improving functionality and much needed storage for the front of house areas along with updating the look and feel.

A fresh “ knock down” italian style render on the walls is a crisp backdrop to the updated neon logo sign. Traditional elements such as bentwood chairs and porcelain brass wall lights are combined with contemporary lighting and joinery detailing.

Beautiful handmade terrracotta tiles create a distinctly Italian feel. to the entry terrace and bar areas.

A banquette seat with cascading foliage overhead creates a screen to provide a sense of enclosure to the outdoor dining space.
